Harry Potter Studio Tokyo Tickets: How Far Ahead to Book

Harry Potter Studio Tokyo tickets: adults from ¥6,600 (about US$44), timed entry, sold in date blocks. When to book and where to buy safely.

Book Harry Potter Studio Tokyo tickets as soon as your dates go on sale, which for popular days means weeks to months ahead. Tickets are timed and dated, adults pay ¥6,600 to ¥7,300 (about US$44 to US$49) depending on the date, and the safest place to buy is the official Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo website. The studio releases dates in blocks: in early October 2026, the official site was selling dates up to December 31, 2026.

We host guests one to three train stops from the studio, and ticket timing is the first thing we tell them to sort out. Here is how it works.

How much are Harry Potter Studio Tokyo tickets?

New prices apply to visits from July 1, 2026. Standard tickets vary by date:

TicketAgePrice
Adult18 and over¥6,600 to ¥7,300 (about US$44 to US$49)
Junior12 to 17¥5,500 to ¥6,000 (about US$37 to US$40)
Child4 to 11¥4,000 to ¥4,400 (about US$27 to US$29)
Infant3 and underFree (select the free infant ticket)

A family of two adults and two children aged 8 and 13 pays between ¥22,700 and ¥25,000 (about US$151 to US$167) on standard tickets.

Other options on the official site include package tickets from ¥10,080 (about US$67) for adults, an Afternoon Tea package from ¥14,000 (about US$93), and an Evening High Tea package from ¥16,500 (about US$110). Group tickets for 20 or more people are ¥6,000 (about US$40) per adult. A cheaper Nerima Residents ticket exists, but it requires official ID showing a Nerima address, so visitors staying in the ward do not qualify.

How far in advance do tickets go on sale?

There is no fixed rolling window. The studio releases dates in batches and announces new releases on its official X, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts and its newsletter. In early October 2026, sales ran to December 31, 2026, so dates for early 2027, including spring break and cherry blossom season, were not yet available.

Our advice:

  • Sign up for the newsletter and follow one official account so you see the release.
  • Book on release day for peak dates. Weekends, Japanese public holidays, school holidays and the New Year period tend to go first.
  • Be flexible on the day. If your first choice is gone, try a weekday or a different time slot.
  • Book the studio, then the stay. Our houses offer free cancellation until 14 days before check-in, so you can hold a house and adjust once your slot is confirmed.

Where should I buy tickets?

Only from the official website, the on-site ticket office, or an authorized distributor. The studio states that tickets bought from unauthorized third parties, including auction sites, are not valid for entry.

  • Official website: choose a date and time, pay by card. Accepted cards include Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB, Diners, Discover and UnionPay, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay. Your card must support 3D Secure verification or payment may fail.
  • 7-Eleven: through the in-store Multi-Copy machine or the 7ticket website, both in Japanese only.
  • On-site ticket office: takes cash too, but only sells what is left. On busy days that may be nothing.

You can show your confirmation email on your phone; no printing needed.

How does timed entry work?

  • You can enter the lobby, with its café, food hall, shop and lockers, up to one hour before your booked time.
  • Start the tour within 30 minutes of your slot. If you are late, staff offer the next available time, subject to space.
  • Arriving after the final tour start time may mean no entry. That time varies by date; check the opening calendar.
  • Inside, there is no time limit. The studio recommends three to four hours.

Tickets are non-refundable. Changing the date or time costs ¥1,500 (about US$10) per change, and you must contact Visitor Services before your original slot. Plan your route with our guide on how to get to Harry Potter Studio Tokyo, and leave a margin.

Which time slot should I pick?

A morning slot gives you the most energy and the full day. With kids, morning is almost always better; see our plan for Harry Potter Studio Tokyo with kids. An afternoon slot works if you are staying close by and want a slow morning. If you stay near Nerima, one stop from Toshimaen, either slot is easy.
